To say Los Angeles is multi-faceted is an understatement. As an LA City Nerd, I have the privilege of sharing with you some of the nuances that make this City, well, LA. Whether good or bad, that's for you to decide. I'm not the ultimate expert on all things LA, but I know enough to be considered a City Nerd.

The Big Lebowski
Heat
Point Break

no question: My Family (Mi Familia) wins the award for most quintessential L.A. movie. Edward James Olmos tells the stories exactly right and every scene is oozing L.A.
And how can anyone forget LA Story with Steve Martin? LA as a romantic city? Who knew?
I seriously cannot believe The Big Lebowski was left off that list. And hello, SHORT CUTS?

Shows Hollywood in all its fading glory in the 1970s.
