5 things you don't know about me...

Mack Reed tagged me and then so did Ed, so I guess I have to tell you "5 Things You Didn't Know About Me":

1. My name
2. What I look like
3. Where I live (besides in LA)
4. How old I am
5. What I do for a living

It's amazing how much people don't know.

OK, well, since you really know nothing about me, here are 5 things that are true about me. Consider it a Christmas gift:

1. I've spent time looking down at helicopters in flight from the top floors of downtown skyscrapers.
2. I've been to the four airports within the City limits (including Bob Hope Airport, whose western runway is in Los Angeles).
3. I was on TV as a kid, but not in any way like Wil.
4. I've got a fascination with brick gutters like you can find on Sunset near Marion Avenue (south side) and in Hollywood on Wilcox (the west side) north of Franklin Avenue.
5. I've ridden in a helicopter over LA.

Have you fed your fascination for brick gutters (if this is what you're talking about) by gazing upon the one found at the northeast corner of Bellevue and Occidental in Silver Lake?

If not, here, allow me to help:

I have a hunch you live in the valley. Maybe Sherman Oaks?

Nice shot, Will. That's what I'm talking about!

I don't think city nerd lives in Sherman Oaks, but I do know the nerd has a very special place for Sherman Oaks in his/her heart.

But you are right about the Valley as the nerd told us "Valley for Life" in our LAist interview.

Highland Park area brick gutters: N Figueroa and Avenues 40 and 44. I am trying to get the So Cal Historical Society to help me petition the City to stop covering our brick gutters with asphalt.

What do they think we are: slack-jawed suburbanites?

PS: last time I checked, the cobblestone street (Bruno..?) across from the new Homeboy Bakery was intact (Chinatown).

I plan on posting those brick gutter pics soon.
