Bob Pool has a great article in the LA Times on the Lake Balboa name change being pushed in the Van Nuys Area. They reference the 180 neighborhoods the City has officially designated, but that number is not entirely accurate. In fact, there are less than half of those 180 (which in itself we're discovering may be too high) that are actually "official."
