Wilshire Boulevard: What it was like...

Remember when Wilshire Boulevard at Cloverdale Avenue was not mobbed with hundreds of thousands? Or, better yet: what it looked like in the 1980s??

Man, Wilshire was "uptown" for us folks south of the 10 frwy. And the RTD buses with the green "pleather" seats that had windows that opened really wide, and pull chords that chimed when you wanted to get off.

Boy do i miss "old" L.A. Too bad i've moved on to the East Coast.

Hey, the buses still have pull cords! But the windows are opened for emergencies only - because they have A.C. now.

The 80's in LA was the center of the universe.

Kosher burritos, Tommys Chili Fries, when Westwood was the center of the scene and Santa Monica was where the low life stayed.
