Mayor is truly dedicated

With the news today that the Mayor was served with divorce papers from his wife of 20 years, it goes to show you that this man was made to be Mayor of Los Angeles. Some might call this a bump in his political career, but it really is a boost to his career. This shows that he is so committed to Los Angeles - so dedicated to being the best Mayor he can be - that he puts his job before all else. His 15-hour days have forced him to choose; and fellow citizens, he has chosen us, the people, over his own personal life. Mayor Villariagosa has worked so hard for the City that he has clearly chosen our great City over his own family. That, my friends, is dedication.

So, no matter what office Antonio Villariagosa runs for next, you know it's a good bet to vote for him - he is going to give it his all and let nothing stand in his way of doing a great job!

Hmmm.... I don't know, Nerd. For the first time in a while I don't feel good about your post....

You make it sound like it's an either/or situation and I know plenty of hard-working people in public and private sector jobs who are also able to be faithful, give time and honor to their families, and respect their spouses.

Although clearly we don't know what exactly happened in the Villaraigosa family's private life, I also don't find it commednable, especially with children, that the Mayor "chose."

Poor guy. Poor family. That sux. I can see the painful humor in this post. However, the reality is that it just sux.

Has there ever been a bachelor Governor of California?

First time for everything, que no?

Divorce hurts the entire family, no one wins but the lawyers.

Jerry Brown was a bachelor Governor of California, and ran for president.

I'll just shut up and leave it to you to bring me back down to earth if I'm reading satire into this post that I shouldn't be.

Politics over family? I don't think so.

I want to think you're being satirical with this post, but I've got the feeling you're being serious.

Are you insane? The mayor's failed marriage is no sign that he is a good Mayor and more committed to the city. It just shows that his marriage was not working. End of story.

Being a mayor of a major California city will ruin your marriage. Hahn got divorced, Gavin Newsom from Frisco got into some extramarital hanky-panky.

The Militant will not comment on this further, other than he's heard the Villar(aigosa) stuff from many insiders a long, long, long time ago.

That might be why Eric Garcetti still hasn't tied the knot with Amy Wakeland.

Hey, MA, Villaraigosa happened to have at least two kids with at least two women even before he met his now soon-to-be ex-wife -- TWO DECADES AGO.

The comment about why Eric Garcetti still hasn't tied the knot with Amy Wakeland? I know Eric and Amy very well. Eric and Amy always spend their lives in finding and supporting services that will help the better community of LA California. They are each others' support in doing what they trully believe in. Amy and Eric will get married when the right time comes along, but they are more feel in their hearts to help those around them. How do I know these things. I will tell you, I am David Wakeland, Amy's little brother and I am very supportive and proud of Eric and Amy in what they are doing for the people of LA, California.
